Sinan Mansions is a historic architectural landscape in Shanghai’s urban space, where early 20th-century garden residences merge with the contemporary shopping experience. The annual SINAN Modern Age Art Festival begins in late fall at the Sinan Mansion with the presentation of a number of outdoor public artworks and cultural activities that enrich the cultural experiences for residents in this area.
In 2019, Acts and Pathway’s participated in the preparation of the event by designing the guide system for the festival. Rather than beginning the creative process with graphic design, Acts and Pathway’s reflected on the possibilities of the wayfinding system in the logic of spatial design. We installed the wayfinding system based on the existing dynamic of the city block and integrated it into the existing design of the building. We replaced the usual graphic design implemented in signs with a guiding textual language. The color of the signs really pops out at night, giving you the feeling that someone is in front of you guiding you to your destination.

思南公馆是上海城市空间中一处历史建筑风貌区，二十世纪初期的花园住宅与当代购物体验融合在一起。一年一度的摩登思南季度艺术节从深秋开始在思南公馆展开，为市民与游客准备了众多户外公共艺术作品与文化艺术活动，丰富大家在这一片区的文化体验。
2019年，活络参与到艺术节的筹备工作中，为这次艺术节设计导视系统。活络以空间设计的逻辑来思考导视系统，而非从平面设计出发。我们根据街区动线，将导视系统装置化，并将其与建筑结合，用引导性的文字语言代替了平面设计中惯常使用的方向标识。尤其在夜晚，跟随这些光亮和一抹抹色彩，你会感觉到仿佛有个引路人在前方。
