Ba-te-dhou aims to form a rapid response to the “stall economy” by activating urban space through art and creativity. In this project, Acts and Pathways invited more than 20 artists and creators from around the city to reinterpret the vibrancy of street stalls or te-dhou in the Shanghai dialect. Ba-te-dhou, curated by Acts and Pathways, was the inaugural project of the 2020 Urban Design Festival, which was opened in a pocket park at 309 Yongjia Road, Shanghai.
Ba-te-dhou was shortlisted for the China Eco Design Award 2021 in the category of Sustainable Urban Community Building, which was organised by the Beijing Contemporary Art Foundation (BCAF).
