‘The Infinite’ is an architectural exhibition co-curated by the Canadian Wood and Urban Environment Design (UED) Magazine, with AP in charge of the spatial design for the exhibition. The exhibition aims to explore the application of wood structures in modern architecture, as well as the advantages and benefits of wood structures. The entire exhibition is divided into three units: Boundless, Infinite, and Carbon-Free.
AP implemented a wooden frame structure within the exhibition space, which acts like a three-dimensional grid system. This structure not only meets the functional requirements for displaying the entire exhibition but also visually corresponds to the exhibition’s content, allowing audience to understand the idea of the exhibition: the wood structure.
This wooden frame system is also recyclable; like scaffolding, it can be dismantled and reassembled. After serving its purpose for this exhibition, it can be used in future scenarios. Wood, being a low-carbon and eco-friendly material, reflects AP’s hope that the design and construction of the exhibition would resonate with these characteristics.
The display content of the architectural works primarily consists of images and text, requiring sufficient flat space to accommodate. Due to the limited area of the space but a high ceiling advantage, AP also designed a set of exhibition racks that borrow space from the vertical dimension. These racks not only utilize the existing furniture in the space but also expand the display area.
